No, teaching experience is not mandatory in order to enrol for the CELTA teacher training. The CELTA qualification is open for all individuals with Advanced or higher level English skills, and a degree equivalent to university entry requirements. However, for teachers with some teaching experience, it can be a useful international qualification to highlight their proficiency.
CELTA is a Cambridge-approved international qualification that will certify you to be eligible for various teaching roles. It is a popular certification accepted by private and public sector employers across the globe and the British Council.
The CELTA qualification doesn’t involve any final examination. Instead, the assessment and evaluation of the candidates happen during the course, which is moderated by an external Cambridge ESOL-appointed assessor.
CELTA is a TEFL certification course offered at Cambridge-approved centres like ES Dubai. It is considered a renowned teacher training course, which is required for various English teaching jobs around the world.
No. Many of our top-scoring grads walked into CELTA having never taught a lesson.
Definitely not. If your English is around C1+ / IELTS 7.5, you’re good. Native and non-native speakers have equal chances of success on the course.
A university-entry-level qualification is enough. A degree helps for some visas later but isn’t a Cambridge entry rule.
For the Face-to-face: 2,495 USD and for Online courses: 1,995 USD
This includes all tuition and Cambridge registration & moderation fees.
None. The only extra you might ever pay is a small courier fee if you need the paper certificate shipped outside the UAE—collection on campus is free.
Yes. A USD 685 deposit secures your seat; the rest can be split into two or three payments before day one.
No. We provide all course texts and handouts—digital or print—within the fee.
Easy—search your city on Cambridge’s official list:
https://www.cambridgeenglish.org/find-a-centre/find-a-teaching-centre/ You’ll spot ES Dubai there. If a centre isn’t on that page, tread carefully!
Intensity! If you want to do this hard and fast, take the intensive programme. If you’d rather take it slower or if you have a full-time job to work around, take the part-time option. Note that maintaining a job and a part-time CELTA can be just (if not, more) challenging than an intensive course.
No. Cambridge issues the same certificate for every mode; delivery format is not printed on it. That said, at the end of every course, you will receive two documents: the Cambridge certificate and our final report. Cambridge dictates that our final report must state whether the teaching practice was online or face-to-face. Your official Cambridge certificate, however, does not state the mode in which you took the course.
Check the schedule table or ask us.
At least six hours with real students (average 12 per class) plus observations of your peers, your tutors and our senior teachers.
No. Assessment is continuous: teaching practice + four bite-sized written assignments, all supported by your tutor.
Pass = meets Cambridge standard, Pass B = very strong, Pass A = exceptional (3-5 % worldwide). Employers mainly look for “CELTA”—the grade is a nice bonus.
Globally. Many ads literally say “CELTA-preferred”.
It’s the only entry-level TEFL qualification designed and externally moderated by Cambridge, so quality is consistent everywhere and employers trust it.
Yes! You’ll meet our Director of Studies during the course, and join our LinkedIn alumni hub with regular vacancies.
Everywhere—from business English centres in Vietnam to ESP roles across the Gulf and summer schools in Europe.
Optional 4-star hotel stay with or without breakfast. A free shuttle (≈35 min) runs to and from campus multiple times per day.
We guide you through every step and issue the invitation letter you’ll need.
Not at all. You’ll still be challenged to try new methods. Experience helps, but openness to feedback is what earns top grades.
Full-time: expect evenings and weekends of study (30-35 hrs a week). Part-time: about 10-12 hrs outside evening classes. Intense—but we’re right beside you.
Let us know early. Your tutor will create a personalised action plan and extra feedback sessions. Follow the guidance and you’ll be fine.
