CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is a qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. It focuses on developing practical skills with face-to-face teaching practice, which will provide you with the techniques and confidence you need to begin teaching as soon as you finish the course.

Candidates are assessed throughout the course. There is no final examination.
Teaching practice - Trainees teach for a total of six hours, working with classes at two levels of ability. Assessment is based on overall performance at the end of the six hours.
Written assignments - Trainees need to complete four written assignments: one focusing on adult learning; one on the language systems of English; one on language skills; and one is a reflection of your own teaching.
